We’re looking for an API Testing Engineer who is meticulous, analytical, and passionate about ensuring seamless communication between services. You take pride in identifying bugs, edge cases, and performance issues before they affect customers. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment, are proactive in improving testing processes, and can balance manual and automated testing strategies to guarantee reliable, high-quality APIs.

About the role

As an API Testing Engineer at Prosperna, you will:

  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated API test cases across our SaaS platform.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Playwright and other relevant tools for API validation.
  • Monitor code quality, vulnerabilities, and maintain standards using SonarQube.
  • Collaborate with back-end and front-end engineers to understand API endpoints and expected behavior.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Conduct functional, integration, and end-to-end testing of APIs to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and QA strategy discussions.
  • Continuously improve testing frameworks, processes, and test coverage.

What experience and skills should you have?

  • Strong experience in API testing, including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience in manual and automated testing, particularly using Playwright.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SonarQube for code quality monitoring and vulnerability detection.
  • Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for APIs.
  • Understanding of web technologies (HTTP, JSON, XML) and database interactions.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
  • Ability to write clear bug reports, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and follow up on issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
  • Bonus: experience testing SaaS applications, AI-powered platforms, or ecommerce APIs.
